About Santa Fe Cybersmiths
Santa Fe Cybersmiths
Digital General Contractor
Santa Fe New Mexico.
"Experience"
My background includes web development, site maintenance, digital imaging and everything Mac as well as independent contract work, consulting a number of individuals and businesses. By combining those talents, I am able to offer the highest quality work in many different areas of computing
I will do my best to make the world of computers work for you, and you can decide your own level of involvement. This goes for Mac software, hardware and network maintenance as well as beginner to midlevel tutoring in each area.
and
I will work with you to form a web presence that meets your specific needs
It is the intention of Santa Fe Cybersmiths to present the customer with a blank sheet of paper (sometimes literally) and ask them what they would like. No rules, no boundaries. Then we will discuss different ways in which we can create that vision. You should not create a web page just because you have the opportunity. The web page should have a purpose, a life. It is a presentation of an idea. Without an idea, it is nothing.
I'll talk to you to find out what it is that you desire, I'll talk about site navigation, look and feel, cost, complexity, intended audience, etc. It is these things that allow you to decide how to best present your ideas.
If someone gives you a web page without asking for feedback, and without asking what you want it to look like, or what kind of an experience you want the visitor to have, they're not going to know what you stand for... so how could they possibly communicate it properly for you?
At Santa Fe Cybersmiths, you are in control. I will do as much or as little as you want me to. And I always use standardized, industry compliant tools so that you can take over your site at any time, in any way. My hosting services allow you to easily edit your material from your home computer, no matter what you have. After all, it's your site.
"The right tools for the job"
The right tool for the job is a simple phrase, but it's a large part of what separates a professional from a weekend warrior
It is the goal of Santa Fe Cybersmiths to remain informed of the most useful and current techniques of implementing an idea in digital form. I spend a large quantity of time learning the industry, and the tools that make it run. I spend money on the best tools for given jobs. I amortize these expenses over many clients, allowing me to do the best work with the best tools, and deliver a product to you at lower cost than you could do it yourself.
Many personal computer users get a web development tool free when they buy their computer or sign up for an ISP. These normal consumers, and even some web developers, learn everything they know from these "gimme" tools handed out for free with other services. Although they can be great fun, they give you a very limited repertoire of devices to transform thought into html.
If these tools are all you know, you can not communicate something that is outside their vocabulary. Often, there are tools more closely matched to what you are trying to do, but you might never know they exist unless you spend your life doing stuff like that. As a result, you get the same output despite many different forms of input. Without the tools and the knowledge, the opportunity is lost
Simply put: "If all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail."
In order for me to work best with my customers, it is of the utmost importance to maintain as many lines of communication as possible but for starters if you have any questions, please contact me at:
